Initial virtual consult: $150

Follow ups: $120 per session for virtual; $150 per session at our facility for in person

Our Family Dog Private Training program is customized to get EVERYONE involved. You’ll get all the tools and support you need to get your kids on board, your dog in check and the whole family playing for the same team! It’s fun, effective and 100% positive.

To make sure we don’t miss out on that important window of opportunity before 16 weeks to teach your puppy to love new dogs and people, 6 weekly socialization classes or 3 daycare sessions are included at NO CHARGE in your 6 week program!

The benefits of practicing everything you learn at home with your puppy with distractions in a group setting cannot be understated – that’s why I have decided to sweeten the deal just a little more and include Puppy Power’s first level of puppy classes in your package. If you can’t make it to the weekly class, sessions are also recorded.

Cost: $850 including HST. (Value: $1298)  24 hour cancellation policy:  We know you’re busy – it’s ok! We just ask that you give us a heads up.  There is a $50 re-booking fee if less than 24 hours notice is given before cancellation, but if you can give Jen enough notice – it’s ALL good!  Just re-book whenever you can, and we’ll pick up right where we left off.  Additional sessions at the end of the program are $120/hr.

  • Bringing home a puppy for our family was so fun and exciting. Our pup loved the kids and the kids just adored him. It very quickly became chaotic in our home. I contacted a few local dog trainers after my new puppy knocked over my 2 year old and put his mouth around his neck.  We weren’t first time dog owners, we had successfully trained a dog before and I knew that this wasn’t the puppies fault but I didn’t know how to have them interact safely.

    After hearing about The Family Dog program I initially thought “ya that sounds great BUT we are a large family with only one income…. It’s a huge investment.”  After thinking about it and talking to Sam on the phone we realized that having everyone interact calmly was worth the investment for us.

    We set up our first training session for the following week. Our Moose can now ask to go outside to pee/poop, sit, lay down, come, watch me and walk on a leash without pulling. The best part of the program (besides Sam herself and how committed she is to our family) is the songs and games that we do with the kids. Moose and the kids play tag, hide and seek and puppy ping pong! We also take Moose to the puppy socialization classes that are included in the program cost. He is really learning how to play nicely with other dogs.

    I couldn’t imagine having a new puppy without these amazing resources and the support of Sam. The pay off is definitely worth the investment.

  • When we brought our new puppy home, it was evident early on that the more we learned about what it meant to be “dog parents”, the better it would be for our family dynamic. We all wanted to do the best we could, but my husband, 6-year old and I were all on different pages in terms of what it meant to train a dog. Hiring Sam to do in-home training was the best investment we could have made, and was worth every minute. The multimedia tools were aimed at our daughter, but were helpful reminders for all of us. Sam’s style of teaching was easy to follow and fun and we all looked forward to her weekly visits. It was great to have the personal attention we needed, and highly beneficial to have training at such an early age for our puppy (before we could participate in group classes). Best of all, our puppy LOVED Sam, and had fun throughout the training. I would highly recommend Sam’s program for anyone who wants to start off on the right foot, or wants to make life with their dog even more enjoyable.

  • Our decision to get a puppy was thought about for a long time as we have three children (9, 7 and 7) and an already busy household. We knew the addition of a puppy could potentially turn into chaos if we didn’t have help to know how to integrate a “fur baby” into the mix. My husband and I both grew up with dogs but that was decades ago and neither of us remember any formal training processes. When researching puppy training options the thought of taking a puppy to a class with many other puppies was overwhelming from a scheduling perspective and it would also not involve the kids. I came across Puppy Power and immediately loved the philosophy of Sam’s positive reinforcement training approach. Family puppy training in our home, and at a scheduled time that worked for us was the perfect solution! Sam is extremely personable, and has a wealth of knowledge that she can share and offers solutions to any existing and potential problems that is specific to your dog, your home and your family. Our labradoodle puppy absolutely loved her. The fantastic thing about Sam’s offering is that it also comes with online resources which are tailored to kids but also provide video’s on various training skills. Even our extended family like grandparents, and aunts and uncles and babysitter now have information to help us all be consistent with the dog. We can’t speak highly enough of this program – it was worth every penny, and we are looking forward to moving on to level 2 in a classroom setting!
